Anyone can apply for a Home Improvement Loan with Creation; subject to their eligibility criteria using the online Home Improvement Calculator or by calling 0330 221 1111

Home Improvement Loans provided by Creation are available from £3,000 to £20,000.

You can select to repay your loan over 1 to 5 years (12 to 60 months; in 12 month intervals). The 1 year (12 month) term is only available for loans under £15,000.

You can apply for a personal loan for many reasons including home improvements, buying a car, taking a holiday and a whole host of others.

Creation personal loans cannot be used for business, speculative purposes; such as investments and timeshares, or to fund criminal activity.

To apply for a Home Improvement Loan with Creation you'll need to be able to answer yes to all of our eligibility criteria below to proceed with an application:

  • Are aged 23 or over and under 70 years old?
  • Do you have a minimum income of £10,000 (gross) per annum (not a student, homemaker or unemployed)?
  • Do you have a bank or building society current account which accepts Direct Debit Instructions?
  • Do you have a UK credit history which contains no adverse credit activity i.e. County Court Judgments (CCJs) or bankruptcy?
  • Are you are a permanent UK resident, and have been for at least three years?

On completion of your application Creation will use the information you provide, together with details from a Credit Reference Agency to assess your application and give it a score. This score is then matched alongside an 'acceptance' score, which is based upon detailed analysis of Creation's experience with previous applicants. If your application reaches this 'acceptance' score, your application will be accepted.

To complete your Home Improvement Loan application Creation will need:

  • Your bank sort code and account number you'd like the funds transferred to
  • Your home telephone number
  • Your address details for the last three years
  • Your employer's name and address
  • Details of your monthly income, rent or mortgage

You can rest assured that every Creation online loan application is protected by 128-bit encryption security software.

Creation will normally provide an approval decision instantly after you apply online or over the phone. There may be times when this isn't possible and Creation may need to carry out additional checks in order to fully assess your application. You will receive an email with the result of your application, usually between 1-3 working days after applying.

No, there is no fee to arrange your loan with Creation.

If your application is accepted, the funds will usually be credited to your bank or building society account within five working days of Creation receiving your signed agreement (excluding weekends or bank holidays).

A Home Improvement Loan is an unsecured personal loan and therefore is not secured against your property.

The term APR stands for Annual Percentage Rate. This rate shows the cost to borrow money in an average year, over the term of your loan. The APR allows you to compare the cost of borrowing from different lenders.

The Representative APR (Annual Percentage Rate) is the interest rate we offer the majority of our customers who apply for a particular loan amount. We may offer a different APR based on your personal circumstances and the amount that you want to borrow.

A Credit Reference Agency collects and stores information about individuals in the UK. They source information from lenders such as Creation as well as other major high street credit card, and loans providers, banks and building societies as well as other publicly available records (e.g. electoral roll). They use this information to compile credit reports on individuals.

Creation will then use the information stored by the Credit Reference Agencies together with the details you provide to assess your suitability for a loan.

Using the information you've provided, together with details from a Credit Reference Agency, Creation will assess your application and give it a score. This score is then matched alongside their 'acceptance' score, which is based upon detailed analysis of Creation's experience with previous applicants.

If your application reaches the 'acceptance' score, your application is accepted. If it doesn't reach this score, it's declined. Credit scoring evaluates the risks attached to an application. This doesn't mean that a refused applicant is a bad payer, but simply means that Creation's acceptance requirements haven't been met.

Please read, sign, date and tick both copies of your agreement in the highlighted areas. One copy of the documentation should be retained by you and one copy returned to Creation at the following address:

Direct debit (mandatory)

On signing a Loan Agreement with Creation you agree to pay all instalments on the dates specified in the agreement.  Unless otherwise specified in your individual loan agreement, all instalments must be paid by direct debit using details captured during your application.

The easiest way to manage your account is using Creation's Online Account Management. You can make additional payments, view transactions and update your details securely. If making an additional payment through Online Account Management, please allow three working days for the payment to reach Creation.

Transfer funds to Creation using the following sort code and account number. Make sure you include your Creation account number and agreement number as reference. You will find this on your contract and in the welcome documents you received.

Please quote your loan account/agreement number when making payments for where you would like the payment allocated by Creation.

You have 14 days from when Creation receive your signed agreement to exercise your right to withdraw   from your credit agreement should you change your mind about your Home Improvement Loan. If you decide you no longer want to proceed with your loan, call Creation on 0330 221 1111. After 14 days you'll be bound by the terms of your loan.

No, Creation can't split payments across more than one agreement or account. Where you are paying by any other payment method other than direct debit please ensure that you make separate payments for each account you hold with Creation quoting your full card number or account/agreement number.

You can repay part or all of your Home Improvement Loan early at any time.

Full repayment – You can repay your loan at any time by contacting Creation and telling them that you want to settle your loan early. Creation will calculate your repayment amount which will be valid for 28 days.

Over payment / Partial repayment – You can pay more than your required monthly payment at any time during the duration of your loan but you’ll need to let Creation know, by phone or in writing, of your intention to do this.
